WHY i HATE IE!!!

IE “was” great

I used to love it because IE 6.0 was great; not until I know about web standards and standard compliant coding. Now, IE 6.0 sucks badly at interpreting XHTML documents and it does not even fully support CSS 2.0.

What the heck is all of these?!? You might think. The people who are spreading Firefox are not switching just for the security, tabbed browsing or popup blocker. Those are the fancy icing on the surface. To me, the core is all that matters.
Web standards

You have heard it a lot nowadays, the web standards. Who actually care what these web standards are? You don’t care; you are wrong.

You get what I mean by standard compliant? People do not see the point of changing to a better standard compliant browser because they do not see the point. “Who the heck need pop-up blockers or tabbed browsing?”

Even if the new IE 7.0 going to come up with tabbed browsings or with more security fixes, I wouldn’t care. I just hope they will actually code something based on the standards set by W3C.

Only things that are based on standards are good. Your computers, TVs, radios, are all made on certain standards. When you tune into a TV station, you wouldn’t get notices such as “Please use only Sony TVs to watch this channel”. That might be super silly to you but pathetically, this is happening on the web.

Every web pages that coded based on HTML or XHTML should appear the same on all browsers. Unfortunately, only standard compliant browsers (those that follows the standards correctly) interpret these web pages as how they should be while IE is giving different results.
IE renders web pages as how Firefox did!

Oh well, if you are telling me most of the stuff you see on the web is perfectly fine, that is because most of the webdesigners have put a bunch of codes targetting your IE browser so it will display it correctly. It is a pain in the ass for the coders.

Yes I’m not very happy when I’m back into designing and IE throws in some errors on my page while a bunch of other standard compliant browsers render it the same.

But since IE is the browser used by majority of the people, webdesigners (including myself) cannot just let IE display the coded web pages incorrectly. In fact, the browser is broken, not the web pages. But IE users see it the other way round. @$%!
Against IE

I wouldn’t actually anti-IE if not because of their announcement of launching IE 7.0 soon. If IE 7.0 is standard compliant, go on and use it. No harm unless it is not.

Their lack of support in their latest IE for all the greatest things for the web such as CSS 2.0 and PNG (the superior format than GIF) is pathetic. I do not believe that they will make IE 7.0 standard compliant—most probably it won’t be anyway.
Hope

I wish someday I will never see “Please use Internet Explorer to enter this page”. It is pathetic. Imagine you see the following message on your mobile phone, it is the same.

Your phone is not supported. Please use Nokia phones to call me.

Today

I got mad that IE does not support the border-spacing attribute in CSS 2.0. I need that to replace the cellspacing attribute in HTML.
*cries* This is so true!!! i want to piss on IE.
