3D Like Musical Note

First we need to open a basic RGB colored 72 dpi 300x300 pixel document.

Then select your custom shape tool.

After that select your eighth Note shape. And change the colour to the one you'd like it to be, I chose color #95C9FF.

Drag out the note.

Now right click on the shape layer and select "rasterize layer"

At this point, ctrl+click on the shape 1 layer (the layer with your object) and grab your dodge tool. I used a 82 px soft round brush. Set the range to shadows, and the exposure to 50%.

Now start dodging those areas I pointed out in red. Be sure the layer is selected! (ctrl+click)

Dodge a couple of times, and now deselect, you should have something like this.

Now go to Layer> Layer style> Blending options

Go to drop shadow and use these settings.

Then go to bevel and emboss and use these settings (If you want a more smooth note, then set your soften setting to around from 3 to 5 px.)

Next go to contour and use these custom settings(67 input, 29 output).
