recreate an exact effect

Hi all....
I’ve been posting on countless forums about this and it’s been 4 days with no reply thus far....
What I need to do is recreate an exact effect in the 3d logo on http://www.talkfreelance.com

I have created my shape in illustrator a few years back and it was very hard to get it exactly the way I wanted it.... I would prefer not to recreate the shape in 3ds max......

I have saved the logo shape in illustrator as an illustrator 8 file so I can import it into 3ds max..... The shape is just one solid shape....

I have imported the shape into 3ds max and I need to know the next steps in creating this effect....

Must haves:
The shine effect
The glistening corners
Must be extruded and or bevels

Im really interested in knowing how to do this....
Please reply. - im very new to 3DS Max so please post step by steps including on where to find menus

-Respectfully yous,
Danny

Re: recreate an exact effect

i'm not sure how to do this in 3ds max, but it's fairly easy to do in cinema4D. In fact i believe we have a tutorial on it.

A lot of it has to do with lighting and materials, as well as the camera angle. In fact that is the only things you really have to change to get the effect. I'm not very versed in 3dsmax though so that is all the help I can give.

As far as my EXTREMELY limited use of 3DSMax goes, i think the process is something of the same. I don't have a clue how to get a bezel on it though. Pixel2life.com might have some info for you.

Re: recreate an exact effect

Exactly what FuFu said.

Just do it via graid in photoshop, just make a custom one and apply it. Then just add the shine/glitter whatever to it. You could do it better in photoshop. The one on TF looks choppy and not very neat and clean as the rest of the banner looks.

Just make a custom graid and then apply it such as FuFu here has done...*

I actually saw that tutorial before posting on the forums.... They dont really go into much detail.
I pretty much knew how to do all the tutorial explained except the parts that he left out such as adding a texture and lights.....
I would gladly use cinema 4d for this.
