my first time doing this

i scanned a 35mm negative at 8708x5760 @6500 dpi

then i did a little color touchup el noise reducto and unsharp mask when i shrank the img i did it by the DPI and not PXxPX

give me what i did wrong and what i can do to make it better

1. "Sex Shots". Don't do that again.
2. 6500dpi? And your computer didn't explode? Wow.
3. From the looks of it, shrinking it by the pixel dimensions looks like it would be a much better idea.
4. Give the negative a good rub with your shirt before you scan it, just to get as much dust and crap off it as you can. Don't rub too hard, cause you will tear the skin off your dick and the negative might get messed up.
5. 300 dpi would work fine. Just resize the image, again, by pixel dimensions. It works just fine. (Scan at like 200% with 300 dpi, it works well.)
6. Don't worry about a bunch of fancy stuff. Just make sure the negative is good and clean, make sure you get a good scan, and then worry about contrast and whatever. Then resize.

as for the high DPI i used a mac and this was one of those fancy 8 grand scanners so high DPI makes it alot more clean and lets me still have a big picture when i compress it (so im told by the digital arts teacher who has some sexy massive prints on his desk that were made from 35mm film)

i shrank it by the DPI because doeing it by the pixels will make it a bigger file size then by DPI also my negatives are shit so it helped to shrink it so much (i think?)

and as for the negative i was told my shirt would hurt it anyway? we dont have any cans of air even though i have one i got for the class i keep forgetting it

anyway how do the colors look (i know no color in b/w but you know what i mean) ? thats really what i was working with

I can't see the "updated" version.

Just make a print on photo paper. I only scan negatives because I really like the pic or I dont have the time/havent taken the time to make a real print.

And putting a border around it makes it a lot more interesting to look at. It also helps if the image is smaller than the resolution on someone's screen, so consider shrinking it a little more than you did on the first posted pic. As I said, I can't see the second.
