Clone brush

Hi, I was trying to create a space picture using a tutorial and you had to do some clone brushing, this is funny because I have never used this before. How does it actually work because I wasn't to sure what I was supposed to do

by clone, im guessing you mean the clone stamp brush? If so, you need to hold ALT to set a reference point, then u can paint anywhere else and it will be as if you're cloning the ref point.
