looks sort of like a jazz trumpeteer or something. Really like the shading and im curious how you did it? Burn / Dodge tool?

I'm diggin the lines to add a bit of texture in the shadows.

But keep going the textured route. Right now it's still a little on the hard plastic side.

Added some more line-work on the tree, just about finished the ... floating pair of jeans. There's going to be a dude wearing those, just haven't gotten around to doing it yet.
Heh, yeah, I'm not 100% happy with his expression. I'll probably end up leaving it how it is, because I'd feel like a putz going back and redoing it, but he's definitely supposed to look happier than he does.
Blocked in a basic color, added shadows and highlights with the colors in the palette (forgot to hide it in the second image), opacity jitter on, opacity 100, flow 1. Then I realized that it wasn't blending very well, so I went back and added a bunch of linework to try to make the values stand out more.
I added some more green, and some yellows in an attempt to break the highlights up a bit. I think it's most noticable on his arm. Lemme know if you think it's working. I'm probably going to add some more when I get a chance.

by the way I totally forgot: anyone have a suggestion for the color of his shirt? That puke orange isn't working for me. Anything but red.
