Is subconcious learning possible?

Well, I was reading Flowers for Algernon. Its about a retard who wants to be smart and nuerosurgeons try a new operation to triple his intelligence. The doctor suggested to keet the tv on at night while he sleeps, to learn the how to understand larger words while he slept.

Can you really learn something while you sleep? Could some one put headphones with all the photoshop tutorials in the world and wake up a photoshop god
Then it be all to easy then But seriously it be awesome if I could learn Algebra I in my sleep instead of when im awake then I could sleep through my teacher's constant monotone repetition . I hate that class -.- Im in it at 8th grade...
I miss 8th grade math in 7th

i think it is possible. Becuase yes, your brain is still going to soak in the information coming through your head. Why do you think people listen to tapes while they sleep trying to quit smoking or things like that, probably becuase the subconcious picks up on on the repetition of the tape.

As for sleeping through algebra, dont, it will haunt you as you go through the rest of highschool. Algebra builds your basic knowledge needed to get into higher level math. And, i dont think it would work, becuase the repetition isnt there. Plus, its easier to learn math by actually doing it.

Algebra was easiest thing for me in highschool so far.. (Im in last year now),

anyways, when I was in Korea, Ive seen some people advertise cd's or tapes that includes English lessons etc, that students can put on when they go to sleep, it supposedly made them learn how to speak English.....

Was it successful? How am I supposed to know, -_-; probly not,

and I cant sleep when Im listening to something, can you?
