Roman and Latin Roots Today

I read an article discussing Latin roots, and then went to my Latin class and heard people complaining about that dead ol' language. Then I was arguing with some other friends who take spanish and french the usefullness of learning latin. Not to mention for some of you, taking Latin is a BIG plus for the SAT's . But I was inspired; I don't particularily ENJOY learning latin, because its a big hassle memorization wise, but otherwise its pretty ..."fun" translating these ancient poems such as the Aeneid by Virgil, and in my Greek class the Illiad by Homer.

Anywho, I typed up the article which can be found here, or http://gamerzfx.net/Mamblog/General/...in-Today-5.jsp.

Do you think Latin is useless? Should it be taken off curiculums nation-wide? Comments? Threats?
