Check how secure your computer is for attacks on NetBios and other port numbers @ http://grc.com/

why? okay i know why.. but seriously... all you need is a router and some common sense and your safe.

Sicloan: not obvious for everybody maybe? If you don't have any form for fire wall and you use Windows I think its just 4 ports that are closed, and rest is open. Also is NetBios open :/ I know it may sound stupid to you Sicloan but not all have that common sense of safe. I posted it on another forum where I'm also a member and alot of people didn't even now what port was and so on...

well ya... most people wont know.. but most people overdo the protection thing. If you dont have a router, you need a firewall... but i think that a decent router would do the trick.
