Short absence

I may not be on so much for the next couple days. Actually, it depends on how smoothly i can get my computer back up and running.

The project:
Okay, so me being the hardware enthusiast that i am, I decide that i want to overclock my computer. No problem there, i can get it stable at 3.25 ghz (stock 2.6). Anyway, after my recent graduation i found myself with alot of money. Money in which i want to spend.

I have been reading up on watercooling computers for quite some time now (ever since i got my computer 2 years ago). And finally decided to make the leap.

About 3 weeks ago i began ordering parts, some go here quick, and some not so much.

The last part of my watercooling system arrived wednesday the 20th. So, i rip apart my computer, and begin setting this thing up.

The process
Okay, so yeah. My dad helped me alot here, since he is a very handy guy. He helped me cut pieces and drill some holes.

Anyway, i had to make room for the Radiator (aka heatercore), the part that transfers the heat from the water to the air, into my case.

I have a midtower acrylic case, and asthetics are key in this thing. I bought some 1/4" lexan (polycarbonate) that i planed on building a little enclosure inside the case undernieth my drives.

Now this heatercore is NOT small by any means. Its like 8 1/2" inches wide with the shrouds and fans on it. And its about 12 1/2" tall and 6" thick.

So, basically i set it all up. cut tubbing and attached it.

The slow part

Its been 2 days and i have been without a computer. Luckily i have 5 in my house and my dad isnt home to kick me off his.

So my computer is not UP right now becuase it was overheating with the water cooling on it. The reason for this is probably becuase i either left to much air in the loop, or the cpu block wasnt seated properly. So ALL day ive been trying to figure it out, im trying my darnest to get the air out of the thing but its a pain in the butt.

Conclusion
My computer is offline and will probably offline all day and probably part of tomorrow.

if you need me post on the forums cuz its the only way i have access to you people (cant get on aim or xfire of any other messaging programs).

Ill take plenty of pics when its up and running, and hopefully push my cpu to its limits overclocking wise.

See ya and thanks for reading all this, assuming you did.

You run your memory & cpu faster so you get better response times in programs and better FPS in games.

its like buying a 2.0 gig processor and being able to boost it up to 2.4 gigs or more, 2.4 being a pretty conservative estimate.

I can't wait to see this, i've been trying to decide if i want to do this or not, and if it works for you and seems fairly easy, i may give it a try.

On air i was hitting 3.25 gigs pretty easily with a 5:4 divider (ram running at 200 fsb while the cpu was 250 fsb... )

Im getting EXCELLENT temps right now. 22 C idle and its like 21 C ambient in this room. i havent tested the load temps but im sure they arent to shabby. I have to leave the side of my case open due to the enormous size of everything in my midtower case (not smart). Plus i got a huge radiator & 2 shrouds & 2 fans.

I will post pics later on.

WHAT KIND OF PORNOGRAPHY IS THAT?!?!!?!?!
I'd rather just spit water onto the hot things.
But yah, any time you build some custom stuff you deserve a pat on the back.
