Doom 3

Great game, scary, i like what i've played so far, very graphic intense though, even one of the settings (ultra, witch says its better for cards with 512mb of memory, and thouse cards dont exist yet) will play choppy on some of the higher end systems. I have been looking around at different tweaks on various sites and was able to boost the proformance pretty well. I can run it at 1024x768 resolution with 2x aa on high and i get 35-40 fps. For people that have it what do you think of it? Whats your average fps?

i've been getting about 30 fps on my shiity nvidia MX 440 at 1024x768 with no AA. Yea it looks prety, and yea its damn scary.

I am getting a BFG nvidia 6800 gt 256mb graphics card in the next couple of days when they are back in stock and i cant wait. Its one of the best cards to play doom 3 on and it has a lifetime warenty and 24/7 tech support unlike alot of computer parts out there. Hopefully it will serve me well.

I get fucking 15 FPS on medium quality, with a geforce 5200FX
I do have shitty 266 ram though.

The game is designed so that there isn't a powerful enough computer to run it on the market to the consumer right now.

yea, the 512mb cards. Im runing it on a Radeon 9800 pro 128mb, problem is that they focused on making the game better with nvidia cards (like sicloan said, the 6800 by nvidia is the best to play it on now) making it bad to play on ati cards, but like i said i was able to tweak it pretty good and i have a good fps. BUT, with half-life 2 valve is focusing on ATI and that will be able to play better with ATI cards then Nvidia cards.

not necessarily true. Yes doom3 was made to be better looking on Nvidia cards, but only the next gen cards. The next gen cards have better shading technology and thats why it will work better.

@tweak i have 1 gig 266 ram aslo =/ thats why im upgrading my vid card / ram.
