New iTunes, iPod Nano, and iPod Shuffle!

Today Apple announced 3 new products.

iTunes 7.0 (available for download now) which features a new browse by album art feature, upgraded look and other improvements.

iPod Nano Upgrades, now made of metal AND in color

iPod Video upgrdaes, now longer battery life and improved screen brightness

iPod Shuffle Makeover, Completely redesigned, only in 1 size, has a build in clip.

Soon: iTV?! Its a small 'hub' that connects to your TV / HDTV and allows you to stream content to your TV. looks sort of like a flattened mac mini.

That is all, enjoy it.

Itunes look sweet now, cant wait to try the new features. Check out the new start screen:

Re: New iTunes, iPod Nano, and iPod Shuffle!

iTunes is just trying to up its game to compete with WMP 11 Beta.

But longer battery life for the ipod video is totally ftw.

iTV: Why bother?

doesn't seem like too interesting a product to me.

New Nanos look sexy though, seems they went the way of the iPod Mini.

The new videos are thinner than the previous models, also able to play downloaded games. The 30 gig is $250 and they've done away with the 60 gig in favor of an 80 gig for $350.

80 gigs is way too much though. Like, I know 30 gb is getting small, for muzik at least, but 80 gb is insane.

60 GB is within reason though.

*is totally going to buy a 30 gig within the next few months, thanks to price drop*

Re: New iTunes, iPod Nano, and iPod Shuffle!

yeah serously

What you guys fail to realize is that mac is competeing with xbox360 in the tv entertainment department now with the iTV (stupid name, they're changing it). It actually is a good idea becuase it will help sell VOD (video on demand) movies and hopefully push that industry. We all knew it was coming.

I really wish the videos were HD though, that would make the purchases justifiable.

80 gigs isnt that insane... especially when people start putting full length movies on their ipod. I filled up my 30 gig pretty quick with only 1 season of The Office, and all my music. Plus they're pushing Games now, album art, pictures and the like... so 80 gigs will be filled up fast

I just cant wait for when the widescreen video ipod comes out, that will be my next ipod upgrade. Hopefully having 120+ gigs, which is easily done using perpendicular recording technology.

lawl.

They still need big improvements in battery life though, especially if you want to start watching anything close to a full length movie (with or without the backlight).

But I still know you have a lot of music, I've used your site after all. Point is, you're um...different than most people, so meh.

And I wasn't think of movies. I personally wouldn't put any movies on the iPod (because of battery life) and because anime would probably be too small (and I wouldn't want people in real life to know I'm geeky like that...and it might not look good that small, even though I watch it on the computer and it's small as it is; I'm a hypocrite).

But meh. I've always hated the people who've hunked over their video iPods with the white headphones (urgh) because they're "trendy".

Me too. 30 gigs is quite enough for my music, and I don't really see the need for putting videos on the ipod, as I don't know when I'd even watch it, not to mention that I can use a nice large computer or television instead.

GET PERPENDICULAR!!!!!!!!

I plan on getting an 80 gig once i get the cash for the sheer fact that i already have 24 gigs of music, and being the pirate that i am, will most likely have more than 30 gigs by the time i get the money for either of them.

30 gigs is quite enough for your music, or for me? Because it's definitely not quite enough for me.

If you're not referring to me, quit spelling music with a z&k, fag.

Re: New iTunes, iPod Nano, and iPod Shuffle!

Um, so I don't know if this is just me, but I can't drag mp3s into the music window of my ipod in iTunes anymore. It will have the progress bar for adding the music at the top, will get about half-way done, and then say "Updating Ipod." It will then act like I never added the songs, and the free space remaining will jump back to what it was before I started adding music.

If this is a bug with either the new software or iTunes 7, it's really bugging me. I mean wtf, I can't add music?

Re: New iTunes, iPod Nano, and iPod Shuffle!

its buggy, i've noticed some other things too*. Remember it is JUST released, so hopefully they'll release some updates to it soon.

* I can't add album art to more than 1 song at a time, it pretends like it does it but then just adds it to the album, not the actual song. So the album art does *NOT* show up in the now playing thingy under the playlist.

My mini's harddrive is in the process of becoming a corpse.

I get an error read at (insert 3 digit number) when i try to add songs, format, or change any preference with it. I'm going to buy an 80 gig once i get a freakin' job.

It's because the ICP discography only spans half a gig.

Wrong, ICP Discography takes up 1.52 gigs
No, my point is I'll just update my mp3 player with songs I actually listen to. I mean at 5 mbs each that 205 songs, do you really listen to 205 songs at a time that like 17 hours of music.

My last mp3 cd
