Re: on that note

@ The Mars Volta

I need to decide on PS3 vs. 360 before christmas, and preorder whatever. But I'll probably be getting 360, and playing online for the first time. Meaning, I'll have to play all of j00s.

Re: on that note

I'm still working on getting it to connect to xbox live. I'm trying to connect to make an account, and it refuses to connect.
I'm looking at the "Text Xbox Live Connection" page, and it says that the "MTU" test "Failed".
I've spoken to customer support, the machine isn't helping, and the guy I spoke to said to make sure the MTU setting was 1365, the machine had previously said 1364. The guy did say it kind right at the end of the phone call, so maybe he meant to say 1364.
I tried to change that setting to 1364 and it seemed to actually change it. I wonder if it's really changing it at all... using a Mac? I've tried both settings (1364 and 1365) and neither produced a different result, so I'm moving on to try to call Cisco customer support...
Haha, anyone got any advice? If this takes too long I'll just play a game.

p.s.: That's Mars Volta cd number 3 for me, I also have De-loused and Amputechture. Good stuff. Kind of requires a particular mood, though.
And the Anekdoten is pretty awesome.

Re: on that note

I used to like Mars Volta, but after what they've become which is basically a goddamn jam session they are uninteresting.

At The Drive-In = Better.

On another subject.

Go get Gears, it honestly too fun.

Not to mention chain saw gun.... chain saw gun. :]

Nothing wrong with Jam Sessions. Just look at the Grateful Dead, asshole.

Re: on that note

Grateful Dead's best albums imo are along the lines of American Beauty where they're just rocking out with limited jamming. Oh, and ATDI is better, yeah.

What exactly is this thread about? I don't play xbox.

Holy shit are you kidding? It's almost unanimous that their live shit is so much better than studio-quality stuff. Like, seriously, if you ever went to a concert, you'd have to agree. The whole feel of it all was just fucking amazing. Such energy onstage and shit...

Not that their studio stuff was bad, mind you. It's just pretty much anyone who has been to a concert will agree that the concerts were better. That's why the Grateful Dead has such a huge download community for their concerts, not albums.

But meh. Your opinion I guess. I just personally would take a concert over any album, any day.

After I saw The Casualties and The Dropkick Murphy's live, I couldn't listen to their albums for a while.

Call of Dootie 3 is pretty fucking incredible too. unfocused parts are blurred while aiming, you can drive vehicles, and throw back active grenades at enemies.

Man, I'm sure that at the time their live stuff was considered better, but I just don't, because I don't like long rambling jam sessions. They don't do that shit on the couple of albums that I like.

It depends on the band, but yeah, I usually would too.

See but that was um.. years ago?

No one should try to recreate anything like that again cause its bound to suck.

Mars Volta used to be good, people are just hopping onto their train too late to have heard it.

.moe and String Cheese Incident are also supposed to be good too, but I haven't heard any of these three, just know that they're supposed to be jam bands for the newer generations.
