ok; so I have this box on the first floor of my house. This box is where the dvr (tivo type deal) and I need to have the ability to recorded tv programs downstairs, and watch it upstairs. I do not want to pay to have a whole separate box, which costs more monthly. What would be the best route too me "mooching" my dvr from my downstairs screen, to my upstairs tv/(computer)?

I dunno why you can't just watch the tube downstairs? anyway, you could either hook up a long ass extension cable if your dvr has two outputs, or split the output and run it up to your room.

Take note that if there are two outputs or you choose to split it, your going to have to watch whatever is being watched downstairs.

Sometimes these boxes have separate tuners and multiple outputs though which do allow multiple tv hookups or, the more likely senario, PnP.

thanks pat, yea well it usually turns out that I want to fall asleep to watching my shows... the only problem is I can't do both at the same time. If I crash upstairs while watching the tube, then I won't be tempted to pass out on the couch downstairs.
