Howdy! I stumbled on this forum while looking for Photoshop tutorials today, and like the atmosphere here. I came back and am now a member.
I live in the High Desert of California (as opposed to the Low Desert, which is where Palm Springs and neighboring burgs are found). I am interested in digital art and rendering 3d scenes, but have a lot to learn. I studied art when I was young, before Pcs and digital stuff; my father programmed computers with patch cords, and I used a slide rule in high school. So I'm getting to be an old fart. I never finished college but I learned how to read Latin, even if laboriously. I play the lute and mostly like any music from 1500 to 1700 AD.
I am also interested in molten metal, and am making my own backyard foundry. I plan on making my own lathe and other tools.
My favorite game is Morrowind, and that's where I learned how to retexture meshes in the game. I recently discovered Daz Studio, and am learning how to make my own props and stuff. It's a blast, a lot like playing with GI Joes when I was a kid. Or with Army men. Back then, in the 1960s-70s, I wondered what the 21st century might be like. I never thought I'd be playing with digital "Joes", here at the dawn of the new century.
My next project here is to make an avatar and a signature, and I promise to keep it below the 150x500 and 60kb limits. When you climb into a new boat it isn't good to start rocking it.
