Hi all. PhotoShop 8 CE new user :)

Hello everyone

Well, I have been just playing around with Adobe PhotoShop 8 CE for about 7 or so mths and have slowly got to grips with the very basics of it all. Although I still have a lot to learn.

Thus far I have made a number of sigs for the few forum boards I visit and a hand full of banners for web pages. Nothing overly complex and as yet to create true art work, though I am feeling confident to give it a good try

Hopefully I can learn the finer tricks to PhotoShop and after haveing a look through the boards some you guys are trully gifted, I can only hope to be as half as good

.

For the most part I use it as a hobby. As I love to free hand draw, I then came across PhotoShop and thought to my self this could be fun to use, and indeed it is.

Anyway, I hope to have some work posted for review and pointers ASAP ( I have a few things I have played with ) although its very basic at the moment.

Using photoshop as a tool to create sigs was how a lot of us started out. Some are still at that point, but it is a great program.

Glad to have you on board, and excellent introduction.

Welcome, I just signed up the other day lookin for a board to browse around on and post up some work every so often. One thing with Photoshop, never think you'll know the program inside and out, there's simply too much on it to ever learn it all. It does have alot of amazing capabilities and you really can produce some nice work with it...its really just about how much time and effort you're willing to put into a piece. Hope to see some of your work up soon.

Hey guys, thankx for the nice welcome. Sorry for my late reply, been a tad busy with the kids and all.

Um, I dont have a scanner, so I cant as yet show my free hand work.
Mostly my free hand is of a few Dinosours ( my kids love me ) and some more abstract stuff. I did, what started as a doodle of BagEnd ( speeling ) You know Bilbo Baggens house from LOTR. I used just a Biro so I could not fix any errors, but it turned out really different. and looks fancy enough to stick on my wall.

I will in a few moments, post a few little things I did. 1 is/was ,my first play with smudging/blending and useing bevels to create a 3d effect to give the feel of smoke driffting down the side of an object. Its of nothing that is real, just a doodel but it looks really effective and gave me a good idea of what can be done in terms of depth.

Its very simple but have to start some where. I aloso have a work in progress ill post with it of a country setting ( most is free draw and textured )

Ok guys, ill post in the 2D section ASAP

Serioulsy though, I like the feel of the boards, freindly and helpful and my god you guys are so freakin gifted I just cant help myself to look at your work.

Um, I hope ya dont mind guys, but I do collect all types of art and images, Got close to 25 meg of Jpegs, gifs and Bmaps, is it cool if I copy some of your work to my pics folder. Not to use or anything thats just not on or right, I just like to have all kinds of stuff to look at and try to learn from.
