I find myself looking at a thread I know will get big and saying; I am never going to read that thread, it is/will be to long.

This is one of those threads.

he also made the opening theme to Arthur. if you like his poopoo, listen to "Welcome To Jamrock" by Damian Marley-- sorta dark reggae.

Re: music discussion and all that noise

Jr Gong and welcome to jamrock were produced by ziggy, its more rap/reggae but its still pretty good.

Pimpass Paradise, For the Babies, Welcome to Jamrock, Road to Zion, The Masters come Back, all are decent songs, but fact remains Jr Gong just remixes a lot of his dads work and raps to it and doesnt have a lot of good original shit.

Re: music discussion and all that noise

wow, looking back on this thread I realize what a bunch of queers some of us are (including me). we have some sort of contest to see who listens to the most underground stuff. we would use this skill to talk to other queers and say "yeah, I listen to stuff you don't know about". and we wouldn't even have to like the music either, listening to underground music comes with that bias that you know more than most people.

if you look at my last.fm you'll see a bunch of popular pew pew because it's what I like. at one point I was like, my peers on this site are listening to more underground stuff than me, I guess I should keep up.

this is the bullshit way of thought, no? people should have a more diverse library but shouldn't have to listen to some guy from milwaukee who made techno in his basement.

discuss.

Re: music discussion and all that noise

I remember last year, my History teacher saying to one kid, "I bet you're the kind of guy who stops listening to a band when they become popular."

Personally, I don't really care too much. If it's good, I'll listen to it. Hell, I have a couple Nas CDs on my computer.

Re: music discussion and all that noise

I no longer consider myself to have 'guilty pleasures' because if I listen to something more than once, that probably means I like it. I don't give a shit who the artist is.

Hell, I'll play Lil Jon's Kings of Crunk while I workout just because they're fun tracks to rev up to. There are always going to be supremely elitist fags that say I shouldn't listen to garbage like that, but instead more intellectual/respectable tracks. There's a time for that, and there's a time for mindless catchy tunes.

Fuck 'em.

My reasoning for hating Electronica.

(and myr's reasoning behind that whole fight thing a month ago, whom I supported, so yeah. Use the transitive property and draw your own conclusions as to my view about this)

Oh, and WTF is wrong with Nas? Considering he made one of the best rap albums of the 90's (pre-gangsta bullshit)? Illmatic was too raw.

He's popular. If you read it context, that statement of mine should make sense.

yeah, but I'm trying to stay low on all the programs because I'm downloading Photoshop and 300, so you'll have to get it yourself. the EP is called Pink+Green, it should be easy to find.
