I'm not a photography expert by any means, but adjusting your photos i would say is ok. Just don't overdo it. If you don't think you have an interesting subject, take pictures, but don't expect more from them than what they really are.
Learning Photography
a quick google search pulled up that article, maybe it will give you some insight.

Don't be afraid to take a shit-ton of pictures because you think they might be dumb, but don't get discouraged that someone SAYS something is dumb. Photography is by no means easy, anyone can take a picture, but it takes an artists to produce something people will want to look at. Look at it as an artist, not as a picture you want to take.

I agree with apoc, in a normal session i can take up to 300 pictures, and end up with only 20-30 that i like, and then only 3 or 4 that i would care to present.

Take photographs that people will want to think about.

PS. Blue velvet roads and red telephone/power poles are unnecessary.

Pss. But the lighting does some interesting things to the blanket in the photo of the iphone.
With that: focus on something that isn't in the center of the frame. This isn't another "oh fuck get that shit out of the center of the frame" rant [it is] but with that photograph, you get to the point of drawing in the eye (especially because of the blanket in the background looking like a stormy womb, look at the red lines and its kind of ethereal. why are phones in it? not sure so thats back to subject matter) but there's a big fuzzy block at the top of the photo that kind of hurts. I understand that its out of focus and such but it acts as a barrier to the depth that we're trying to perceive.
