Hey everybody, I'm new so I thought I'd start by sharing some of my work

scanlines rarely look good. you should get rid of those, or lighten them up, especially on the parts around the people. also, the text is too blurry, and when using a pixel font, it should be sharper. that said, the backround brushing, lighting and the blending is all really well done.

ur font isnt very nice. too many renders in the first one lol. erase some scanlines. they only look good on SOME artworks/sigs. but good job. the second one i prefer.

Also just another quick question, when is the best time to use scanlines? I just whack em on without really thinking

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Scanlines... well really you only want to use them if your trying to achieve a certain effect, like a CRT monitor effect on an image. There might be other uses but this is the main one I see.

Second one is the better.

Using other peoples art in your signatures is for the lose.

I think that for now I'll stick with using other peoples renders, they look hard to do, I can cut them from other pictures but that's about it.

What do you guys think to animated sigs? I was going to post this sooner but errr...let's just say it's early for next christmas

Very nice animation, snow looks great, but perhaps make it fall a bit slower, so it looks more "gentle" and realistic.

Yeah, it actually looks nice. And you showed you weren't even that much of a newb by adding different size brush spots to create a sense of depth.

But I think following MonkeyRonin's advice wouldn't hurt.

I don't like the colors in the first or second much. good blending, but the color scheme is choppy, like you picked the right ones but the highlights are turned up. maybe more effects?(not scan lines.)
