i would've ignored you, but i knew no one else was gonna do it.

and i don't think videogames/movies/music are all that different. there are certain movies i watch over and over again (closer) and others that i watched once and will probably never see again even though i absolutely loved it (lucky number sleven). and i would imagine the same applies to music for some people. there's nothing wrong w/ wanting to experience every sound possible. and yah, maybe his motives are skewed, and, if they stay skewed, the people he knows in real life will figure it out and either call him on it, or just never take him seriously again. but since you don't personally know him, and since you have absolutely no reason to make such an assumption about someone, i'd recommend you stay out of it.

...at least until your balls drop. *snickers* sorry, i couldn't help it.

Re: Radio

You know, my sarcastic post aside, I'd just like to say my opinion, on one small thing...

Honestly, how can you even fully appreciate music when you limit yourself to "only a few dozen artists"? As far as I'm concerned, that's just flat-out ignorance. If you aren't going to commit yourself to something, or try and experience the most out of life and culture, what's the point of even doing it?

You say "quality over quantity", but how can you really say that when you restrict yourself to never learning the quantity of what's out tehre?

Re: Radio

no you can try everything, that's why we have last.fm, but downloading entire albums of artists and claiming you actually habitually listen to those artists is a load of poop. p.s. a few dozen could be like: 96.

Re: Radio

Myr, in many cases one song doesn't do justice for a whole record, so downloading or buying the whole album will allow you to listen to every song as a whole instead of just one and running the risk of missing out on something very good.

This is the reason that Muzik, even myself, and probably many other download whole albums instead of getting only preview of it, so you don't miss out on any of the other greatness the album contains.

Re: Radio

I was actually gonna bring up Muzik's point of the White Stripes, where their mainstream shit is kinda meh good, but their other less popular stuff from the albums are better in their own right, but I felt that it was like arguing against a brick wall.

Re: Radio

or my post changed your mind, and dan's changed your mind again.

that seems more likely huh?

and dan, in many cases, only half the songs on an album are good anyway. which is why I said dling the whole album is kinda sort of a waste IMEO.

Not having downloaded the whole album, you wouldn't know.

Example: TV on the Radio's "Return to Cookie Mountain". Only getting a couple songs from it equals missing out.

You must be listening to some mediocre albums to have only half of the songs be good. And what really makes them "good" or "not good?" What if I listen to the album again half a year later and actually love the tracks that I used to hate?

Re: Radio

Then you're quite obviously a hypocrite, duh.

Myr, no that was not the case at all. Please, for the love of God, don't treat others like you might an idiot. I'm a year older than you, and have had less time for the forum subculture to fucking screw over my sense of ego.

I just said "oh." to you because I didn't want to argue. If I were agreeing with you, you'd know it because I am self-righteous enough to try and make me seem like I had agreed all along, and just worded it wrong, in an attempt to try and make it seem like I was owned by a 14 year old (something that could never happen, mind you). You've known me long enough to know that, duh. ANALYZE THE FRAKKING WORDS MAN. :S SL KFJDSK DNCdkvdbs jbndan jdsvnskjavn kjdpornk, dskllj mvdkjs bnvjk

Oh, and yeah, usually on good albums, there is no filler whatsoever. I used to listen to radio, then last.fm radio because that was better. Then I realized that it's the artist themselves with the message, not the music. It's just their medium. I want to appreciate the art, and all it's meaning behind it. Just listening to singles completely destroys the artists original intent (unless they're some shitty mainstream rock band who has no intent other than to "rawk"), especially if you're listening to a concept album. But even on most albums, it's still true. You learn to appreciate these things as you mature in your tastes.

My maturity's in question? What do you do all day, bit? go online, talk to your internet buddies, make gay jokes, wank, talk about how people not obsessed with the internet are stupid? why don't you do something with your life, you prick, instead spending all day having stupid little conversations with all the stupid little people who flock to these message boards because they've been rejected everywhere else.

and maybe, it's possible isn't it, that I think half the songs on most albums are crap is because I'm actually more critical of the artist than you? and psycho, you realize I can download a whole album and then get rid of the songs I don't like, as opposed to like, wasting space on my ipod, or hard drive.

OH MY GOD.
shut the fuck up, dude. all you just said is, "hey, i'm different, accept it." just after you unloaded a shit-ton of reasons muzik is a poser for downloading an entire album. and here we are arguing the most irrelevant details of what was a stupid fucking argument to begin with.

oh, and by the way, if i sound mad--i'm really not. i don't get mad. just annoyed. he's been doing stuff like this ever since he joined the forum. pretending to be smarter then everyone else. really just making an idiot of himself. *sigh* it gets old. especially when he starts arguing grammar...because he's run out of points that have absolutely no point. but that's not for a few pages or so.

no what I think is lame is when you call me out for saying things I haven't even said yet. this is why i believe i'm smarter than you. because you are a forum of people who brag about what anti-depressants you're taking or psychologists you're seeing, and I am enlightened.

so, you put words in muziks mouth--you're enlightened?
i put words in your mouth--and i'm on anti-depressants?

i get it,
so basically, no matter what we say, and no matter what you say, you're smarter than us. that logic alone--entirely undefeatable.

thank you for trying to enlighten us as well, myr.

Re: Radio

Actually, in that last post, he was referring to muzik, doctor, and possibly me (?).

Oh, and I never once brought your maturity into question. I just said it's a matter of tastes maturing. That has nothing to do with personal maturity. It's about going through phases of liking things, and growing or waning in appreciation of an art.

Oh, and if it matters, I should at least point out the hypocrisy of you listing how much of a loser I am with my life, and then saying that you're smarter because you don't judge people without knowing them first. If it matters (it doesn't), I haven't watched porn in over a month, the number of real online friends I have could be counted on one hand, I am homophobic (no gay jokes), and yeah, I play sports for my high school. I can hardly be called a forum recluse, considering nothing ever happens at this place anyways.
Before you went on your retreat of "enlightment" off the internet, some of those things might have been true, but then again, they were true of you also. The only thing I can see of your Enlightenment is you fucking sense of self-ego.
And yeah, I'm fucking defending myself against a 14 year old, who thinks he has more of a life than I do. The fact that you have to argue that your life is better or more complete than mine, is pretty fucking pathetic. Especially considering that your only ammunition is how you knew me a year ago. I am perfectly happy (not content) with my life, and I don't even need to bring it up because it's great enough as it is. You on the other hand, have to jump randomly just at any mention of the word "mature" (which has more than one meaning, mind you). Yeah, I never said you weren't mature. But, I think it's pretty obvious now. Whatever you have to say from here on won't get a reply from me, mainly because I don't give a fuck. But you don't insult me without having a single fucking thing to back it up with.

...Fucking shite.
