mine looked ok, but i scrapped it cuz it was crappy looking, might give it another go lol.

yea, theres not many (but are some) things that i hate more than people trying to be something they aren't (i.e. black and saying lame ass stuff like 'yo dawg', even though they are white, or anyone saying m8... its lame).

Just because you are not Australian does not mean you can not use the word m8/mate. Same goes for Australians, just because they are Australian does not mean they are going to use that word.

Sorry but m8 is not reserved for Australians. Once again saying a word does not make you any type of person and being a type of person does not mean that you have to say any word.

I've got a pretty noobish question to ask. Im new at C4D and i want to put the render in Photoshop. Do I use the "Image Viewer" and save the render as a jpg? (Everytime I do that it always has a black background in the jpg. I Also have to set the layer to Screen o.O to make it look *almost* good)
-or-
Is there another way to save the render?

to milky - i think (though i dont use C4D very often, dont even have it installed atm) you need to save it as a .PNG file, there should also be an option somewhere after selecting PNG to keep the transparency(or alpha)

For all your questions:

To save a render only (no black bkg):

Go to your save thingy (doing this by memory, you know where you render?) and go to output and make sure alpha transparancies are checked... i think... i dunno i havent done gfx in a long ass time... no cpu for now

i still cant figure out the transparent thing... its not when you render to picture viewer, and its not when you just go to save normaly....
its also not in render options the only thing i can see maybe being it there would be alpha channel? grrr, also i cant find where my textures are located when i go to find them there is no MAT folder.... so where did they go?!

I have just the thing. I started C4D last week, and I ran into the same problem. I have v.8.5, so don't hold me to version differences. Go to render settings, and select "Multi-Pass Rendering", click the "Enable Multi-Pass Rendering" checkbox, and go to the "Channels" drop-down/arrow button and add all channels. In the "Path" field, put in the directory where you want to save your render. Make sure .psd(Photoshop Document) is selected as the file type, and make sure "Multi-layer File" is checked.

Now, when you render, every aspect of the scene you could want to change will be made into a layer. Alot of them you don't often need, so you can toy around with the "Channels" settings to only render the channels you want. One of my favorites is the "reflections" layer that it produces. You can get some pretty awesome ghost effects that way.

Good luck. I'll monitor this thread for any questions you have.
