lol to do that just make a 40X40 icon from one of these sigs, probably either tech or see through, and maybe add text, like "borders" or something

i got a cool idea, have one of the types of borders on the left, one on the top, and one on the right, and the text "Borders" on the bottom
will do that after NUMB3RS is over

ok, well i was just putting it on there... cause there are many people that like them, im not a big fan of them either, i might extend the tut for that last border.... to make it so its like double tech, although i have never done that be4

for the 1st tut, instead of deleting and such you can just make teh middle white and put it on darken mode and the white is invisble... just so ya know, but if you dont wanna fool with the blending then cool.

I really liked the 3rd border... Im very new to PS and Ive always wondered how to make those. my first attempt is in my signature... poor attempt I know I could do better, I was in a hurry so I didnt hold shift or anything with the poly lasso. I probably should of used the regular lasso too so i had a rounded border, would of flowed better with my sig. I like it though. This tut was so easy to follow! Thanks alot!!

I on the other hand also don't like those heavy bevel borders, while there are popular at some forums..
for me they ussualy ( when its a big one) distract from what really is going on in the pic.

And i think that is what is totally wrong with the trend. People are trying to hide the real signature behind these massive beveled borders. To some, they look cool, but in my eye, they are just eye candy for newbies.

to tell you the truth, i agree 100%, im not a big fan of them... its just that everyone was doin it for a while, so i tryed it... stopped about 4 sigs later... lol, not really into it... i use the first 2 borders most of the time, unless they request a tech border...

and wow, ever since this tut got onto P2L a few people joined... thats cool... and there are 12 people viewing it right now! (11 guests)

This may not be what disturbed does, but what i do is make a 3 px black border and then go in with the rectangular marquee tool and delete the center of it all the way around.

Now whether or not that makes sense is up to you

are you just trying to make a border around the edges? i use the horizontal and vertical select tools and just select 1 px border all around, not that complicated.

Or i just draw the border holding shift and using the pencil tool at 1 px.

but i think he wants to make the 1st border, not a 1 px border...

just make sure that you are changing the color of them are as such
1st - 3 px - Black
2nd - 2 px - Yellow
3rd - 1 px - Black

also make sure that you have a new layer and it is selected, and be4 you do the strokes press Ctrl + A

hope that solves it for you
