Seeing as the next versions well beyond "under way" we've decided to slowly let you know whats going on!

Visual Design Core is going to be undergoing some much needed large changes in the next version that will require us to be dropping a lot more cash on a dedicated server, among other things, and there has already been a very large time investment by Pat in his coding and designing of version 3. As such, we want to make sure that this investment isn't a waste, so we've decided to open the doors for ideas on how we can better promote this site, as well as content providers for the next version. I have already written a few articles for release, and started on other content to coincide with it, but we'd like to let you actively become a part of the VDC family. Feel free to post your ideas here in this thread for anything VDC related, or if youre interested in writing any content for the future. Content Providers will be rewarded with full credit and some small perks once the new version comes out, and those who actively provide content might even be asked on as staff contributers.

We're actively looking for content contributions in the form of content and articles, ideas, or anything related. This means anything from some simple, new content for version 3, to full articles on anything art related, be it digital or otherwise, or anything you think of that you think might help us in this push. We're going to be changing a lot of things in this next version, some of the details will slowly be leaked via the front page to our dedicated members (thats you guys) who've stuck by us. expect more details soon in a post from pat or myself about what we have in store.

An update for the opening page to maybe feature a work of the month would be nice... I actually think the forum layoutn is a little too complicated.. I think the tutorials section and such could all be meshed together as sub-forums to the photoshop and 2d section.. i don't know.. I might make an example later if i can find one of my spare forums..

also.. be nicer when critiqueing sigs because most newcomers will come for mostly that purpose

Thanks for the idea. We currently have a system pretty much built for the next version that is a full blow content management system. So things like tutorials and articles will have a nice place to site on the site.

We do need a reworking of the forum structure though.
