That's good, in a few months the chips will be x86. There's not going to be any problems with the change, PowerPCs will still work fine, but you'll probably want the x86 later on down the road if you plan on keeping the computer for a long time. Plus the x86 is probably going to have a nice speed boost to it, something better than 2GHz.

Not true. Several games support OSX. And with apple switching to x86 chips, game developers will have it alot easier coding for OSX platform. SO basically there will be alot more games on OSX.

There's more than "several," but yeah, that whole argument that you can't game on a Mac is outdated and untrue.

Dell and Sony Viao all suck major fucking imported vagina. I mean honestly. Go build your own computer boy (Sasuke). You're competant to open up an internet explorer/mozilla window, so I'm sure you can build a computer. theres guides everywhere. you can read. Society has made you out to believe that computers are assembled by robots, when in reality they are mostly hand assembled by poor thaiwanese.

I would never buy a factory assembled computer in my life, unless it was a laptop (kinda hard to build one of those).

Not only do you have a better selection of parts, but you can save a bunhc of money too. And its not like you DONt have a warenty, you still do, but its on a part to part basis.

lets observe the happy medium here.
some people can do the maintenance on their vehicles without paying someone else to do it (change oil, oil filters, engine maintenance, that kind of stuff). some people cannot, whether it be because they do not have the time to do so or simply dont know how.
some people can do the same thing with computers. some cannot do a single thing.

so dont get a superiority complex simply because you can put together some rectangular boxes in another, bigger rectangular box and plug in a few wires.

lmfao, couldn't agree more

seriously tho, from what i'v been seeing w/ computers, the best deal you can get, is to go w/ an emachines through best buy, and that'll be 300-600 after mail in rebates, they're upgradeable to...i think 2 gbs of Ram, the 600 model has a PCI express slot and a 64-bit processor, they'r just totally upgradeable, if i were going to buy a new machine, i'd buy a mac, but if it HAD to run windows, i'd pimp the shit out of an emachine

^agreed, theres alot more too it than just plugging stuff in, you dont wanna try and slam an AGP vid card into a PCIe slot, or use the wrong socket style processor, or buy ram that isnt compatible. There is alot of stuff that could go wrong. Hell you could buy a micro case without thinkin about it, and wind up with a MOBO that doesnt fit in it.
