Re: Luna Lovegood

She was clearly the best character in the book. She knows.

Also, that /b/ spoiler copy-pasta was all wrong. I hope they get loser's lurgy.

Re: Luna Lovegood

last book was the best in terms of overall story, but worst in terms of dialogue. this goes for all the books though, i hate how she has to clue everyone on the shit we all remember, like THE GENERAL PLOT AND MAJOR DEVICES OF ALL THE PREVIOUS NOVELS, but she brings back all these random names that she only mentioned once in like the second book or whatever. and i hate how she explains everything in dialogue for this book, it totally takes me out of the experience. also there are 54 deaths in the book, and a bunch of them are pretty big characters, but some of them die and it adds like NO effect to the plot and even seems excessive at times because she doesn't properly reflect on the death events due to the length of the book.

still bad ass though.

Re: Luna Lovegood

Sounds like shit. I'm glad I decided to stop reading after the first book.

Re: Luna Lovegood

Hedwig died for convenience while writing. She didn't want to deal with him being carried along while they were on the run.

Re: Luna Lovegood

um, i didn't mention any specific deaths, dawg.

if you want an example, though, how bout Colin Creevey. she just mentions his name once so the list of casualties harry knew looked longer. anyway she had more commentary for hedwig's death than for lupin, and more for mad-eye than lupin, and i thought lupin was one of the BIGGEST characters. and although i wasn't that upset about it, there really wasn't much use in killing fred either, and that's just a rule of thumb, NEVER kill the comic relief.

Re: Luna Lovegood

What I didn't get it is why she killed both Lupin and Tonks in that battle, and yet only mentioned the whole thing in passing even though they just had a son and Harry's the godfather.

Re: Luna Lovegood

YEAH!

i figured she wanted all the members of James Potter's group of friends dead for some reason. come to think of it most of the deaths served no purpose to the plot. it was like she felt guilty about not having the balls to kill harry for good, so she decided to knock off 10 other mid-major to minor characters last minute.

i finished the book in exactly 15:34 hours. i'm so sweet.
