I recently re-watched Taken (I'd highly recommend it), and there was one song in it that I rather liked, possibly in a sentimental way due to loving its use in the show.

The guy who wrote the show technically wrote the song but it's performed by Emmylou Harris, and it's titled "Just Before It Gets Dark".

Anyway, I've been unable to find a copy of it, outside of the option of buying the whole soundtrack. I mean, I couldn't even find a download of the soundtrack.

But I have the series on DVD, and the song plays in full, uninterrupted. So my question is, how would I go from it playing there to separating that into a .mp3?

Basically, some sort of recording program, but I can't seem to get anything to work for what I want it to. Any help with this would be appreciated.

You can record it directly through your soundcard, aka getting exactly what you hear. Just start recording, play the song, then stop recording, and trim it down, export as MP3 after installing the lame_enc.dll file, which there should be a link to somewhere on their sourceforge site.

Aha, thanks. I actually had that program a while back, I forget why. But I completely forgot the name of it.
