I think this is more coding discussion. Easy to script somthing like that though. I sorta did that here cept mines flash and it doesn't get its info from a text box, but from my winamp.

yea, that could be pretty cool... maybe make a selection that the people could choose their background... give the user a bit more selection

It would be really easy to add several backgrounds. All this thing is is taking input from the from and using if statements to change the image / or in this case text output using GD+ library. Pretty cool though. Would be nicer if you included the code to the put image on someones forums. A problem with this though is the fact that you will need lots of bandwidth.

Yea, I'm pretty low on that, only have a gig and a half

I could make a little pop-up that asks them to save it, and they can upload it to photobucket or something. I'm going to get a new domain soon though, hopefully I'll have enough to buy an assload of bandwidth.

Yeah with my unmetered bandwith I could do that, I've already experimented using PHP and GD+ Bib library my making my Bnet Stats script which dynamically displays your starcraft stats on a signature image:

And then writing to image with a TTF that I uploaded:

It is do-able, any help -- feel free to ask

The sig i made is basically a counter, but it gets the info from the vdcore database and outputs it to an image.

Of course to save bandwidth resources i had it save the image localy and update it every half and hour or so.

Ok, here's my idea with my low bandwidth lol
They make it, a pop-up comes up for them to save it, so they can upload it to photobucket or something later on. It would hve to save it though, so I would set a cron job to delete it every 24 hours.

This was supposed to amaze you guys
