looking to do a traditional website....

looking to do a traditional website....
not sure where to go to learn how to do this. All i have knowledge of is html and pat tells me i should learn css... but what i want is the following. i dont want you to write it for me, just tell me where i can learn the baiscs of css so that i can do it myself.

simple. im going to work up a portfolio of sorts here on the site (www.jwhite.visualdesigncore.com/) and i'd like to get a simple layout done. so any site i can go to to start learning css?

All the links Pat listed are great to take a nice gander at lol ( he listed all the good ones ). You can also go here and check out the source code for some of these templates i guess http://www.oswd.org .

if they're legit ebooks, and are pubicly available, then yes, you can post them.

They're publicly available in that they're hosted on someone's computer. I'm kind of confused by the "legit" thing though. How about I just post a link and you can remove it if it would be trouble?

Being legal just helps you sleep better at night.

(Those cells can get a bit cold, unless you're getting some from "Bubba Grundy" from cell block D4)

Although. I laugh, because everyone here probably has Photoshop. And... I SERIOUSLY doubt everyone's bought it.

I mean, hell, I didn't buy it untill my parents got it for business-use.

Jared, that CSS tutorial I posted should help you with some of the formatting, even though by the way you have your setup you wouldn't need it. All you would really need CSS for is styling, which if you want you can contact me sometime or PM me and tell me what you need, and I can write out a tutorial for it.

I think I'm a couple months behind anyway

Also tell me what standards if any you will be using so I can demonstrate it the way you would like me to.
