Smile TutorialSE - Tutorial Search Engine

Hey guys/gals,

As tutorial freaks, I really think you're going to like this website. I've been working on this project for about two weeks and it's really coming along. It's a search engine!

TutorialSE, the tutorial search engine, is a search engine based around tutorials. My goal is to make finding a tutorial on anything you're looking for that much easier. Google offers you over 10 billion webpages, but I offer you a central base of 22,000 tutorial pages. I want to make it easier for you!

Try it out
http://tutorialse.com

Tell me what you think. How are the results? What you're looking for?

Thanks,
Luke

Re: TutorialSE - Tutorial Search Engine

A few times I got linked to some Deviantart page, but it only linked tothe main page, which was quite annoying.

Also, too many times it led me to other sites that search for tutorials, like http://www.good-tutorials.com, which was equally annoying.

I was able to find a couple good sites though, just by searchign for random terms, so yeah, it served it's purpose.

Great idea, although I think that you should rework the logo a bit, and maybe offer a drop down to just search for a specific program. A great idea though!

Re: TutorialSE - Tutorial Search Engine

Thank you for your comments.
The search indexes a lot of different sites (over 200 tutorial sites have been index already) and sometimes it includes the index page (why not offer direct advertising to the source of our content?)

The search has been giving good results for specific searches. I don't want to seperate the search into different sections, but if you add the program name, like Photoshop, in front of the search term, it will help narrow down the results for you (which is one reason I put some of the main "terms" in the footer).

I'm working on a few different ideas with the site as well. My affiliate system should dominate

Seems good enough, I didn't check it out for long, as i don't really have anything to look at in particular, from from what i did see it worked well.

Visually though, it really could use some work. It's a bit too plain, especially the logo as Pat already mentioned. something more vibrant or interesting certainly would help.
