New Design
This is the first photoshop design I have been experimenting with. The center between the two borders will hold my flash content.

Open it with photoshop, so you don't get the web browser white space.

Flash sites suck. I am turned off by them enormously. Mainly becuase accessability is just not there. I dont hate flash, i just dislike sites that have its content in flash. I think flash on websites should be purely for adding "something extra" to the site, but you should have the same content in html as well. things that should be in flash: Movies, demos, slide shows, ads. Content should remain in html.

Now, about the layout. its a good start, although awfully thin and leaves a lot of unused space.

After taking a Flash 8 course, that deals mainly with the programming, I decided to make a site using it. Take a look at http://orisinal.com, thin designs often look good.

I agree though that it definitely needs work. It'll be like a month before I have anything finished.

Depnds on the site minimal can be used well in some sites some look better 'fat' looking with low and wide. Just have to see how you use it really.

The design is so-so right now but it is flimsy due to not being finished so we will just have to wait and see.*

I like it, has a nice feel about it, I'd rather see it with content. I need to learn some flash, HTML, CSS etc. 'cause I need to create an onlinbe portfolio at some point. Are you doing a college course or what?

I'm in college for Information Technologies. I've taken a few courses in website design and flash. My digital media course was well taught so I have a decent background in the programming of Flash 8. I'm going to take some design courses next year to balance my studies.

I would make sure the loading bar doesn't lag or go to slow, because that will definately keep people away, especially the dial up users.

That site's navigation should have had a capped constant to avoid the lag involved with rolling over the navigation too much. As for my design, it's not even decided yet, so no content till I come up with a cool looking design.

How is that a double post when they are almost a week apart, representing two entirely different designs? The page loads fine, make sure you have Flash 8 installed.
