AniCovers.com

I just finished anicovers.com. It's a place where anime fans can download and submit fan-made dvd covers and labels...

http://anicovers.com

Any Opinions?

Re: AniCovers.com

I like the rounded edges.

I also am in love with the banner.

The colors all play together well, and I like how you offset it with the darker background blue.

Only problem I would have is that I'm not a huge fan of your navigation situation.

That and the whole tables thing.

Re: AniCovers.com

Yeah tables = eww.

nice header and a decent idea.

If the site is about covers, why not make that the prominent feature about your site? Showcase some covers (random or not), and have a cover search on the homepage, dont have the blog look, it will turn users away.

Tables?
I am really unsure of where their are tables...I didn't code anyt ables at all - so unless it is in the forum...Which I don't think it is...What do you mean?

Also...Less blog-like...How does this sound?
Maintain the sidebar but replace the news area with a large featured cover/label and some random ones...With maybe one item of news that is "hidden away?"

Re: AniCovers.com

Did you slice the site?

If so, you are using tables.

Re: AniCovers.com

Your nav is kinda bland. Dunno how you could fix that though, besides making it flash and when you click a link a girl pops out making her boobs bounce in your face.

But the whole text link is so ick. Try doing styles of font for each button.

IE: Home button is done in the Naruto style font.

Umm...No coded it from scratch in semantic markup...
Did you look at the source code (I'm not sure where you got the idea that it was tables)?

Oh! That's a great idea for the navigation! I think I will do something like that...Thanks!

Re: AniCovers.com

pbjorge12, Do you know what happened to your website? Today I tried to go Anicovers to look for a cover and I got a completely different website. Did you move to another site or what happened to it? I tried to search for it and all I get is the same website that is not yours. I am wondering what happened to it. Your website was the coolest English anime custom made collection around and cool website. I would like to know how I can get access if it was moved.

Re: AniCovers.com

looks like the domain expired and he didn't get a chance to renew it!! someone else bought it and threw up a parking page which has ads on it.

Re: AniCovers.com

So deos that mean that he will have to wait for the domain to expire to get it back or is he going to use a different one until he can get his original domain back? So what happens now and how can all his members have access to the collection of covers?
