Looks too much like a blog or a design site. Instead of fancy negative space, why don't you fill it up with like...smash bros stuff? Oh, and you're going to run out of content really fast, unless you plan on investing a lot of time and effort into this (ie, hosting tournaments with prizes, actually getting your hands on exclusive content, finding something to do that smashboards isn't doing) it's going to remain a way to make a quick buck and fail at being a real contender of a smash bros fan site. I like the idea, but I'm not sensing it's going in the right direction. Talk to me on AIM if you don't understand what I'm saying.

I understand what your saying, and I somewhat agree. The layout will change with time though. It all depends on feedback from the community.
